Community Foundation Reports a Very Charitable Year in 2016

2016 Foundation Charity Report

The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains is pleased to report that 2016 proved to be a very charitable year. The Foundation provided more than $1,856,000 in charitable and educational assistance in six states, with the majority of the assistance being provided in northeastern Pennsylvania. Families, individuals, and organizations established new charitable endowments with The Community Foundation to provide assistance to such worthy causes as the E.L. Rose Conservancy, the Susquehanna County Historical Society, the Elkdale Cemetery Association, NEPA Community Health Care, various Donor Advised Funds, and college scholarships for students in Pennsylvania and Florida. The Community Foundation is currently managing more than $13 Million in charitable assets comprising 216 permanent endowments.

We thank our corporate donors that in 2016 contributed toward our Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit program. This helped provide tuition assistance to deserving Pre-K through 12th Grade students attending schools in Bradford, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Montour, Northampton, Pike, Schuylkill, Susquehanna, Wayne, and Wyoming Counties. This program also helped support special unfunded projects in numerous school districts throughout northeastern and central Pennsylvania. In 2016 we were also pleased to continue our partnership with the Pennsylvania Bankers Association to help provide the EverFi Financial Literacy program in High Schools throughout all of Pennsylvania.

The Community Foundation is pleased to assist our donors with their charitable goals. On their behalf we are proud of our accomplishments in 2016 and look forward to continued charitable growth in 2017.
