Interfaith Creates Endowment

The Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains is pleased to announce that Susquehanna County Interfaith has established an endowment to help support Interfaith’s work on behalf of the citizens of Susquehanna County. The endowment is intended to provide annual grants to assist with Interfaith’s program expenses, thus helping to ensure its long-term viability.

Interfaith offers relief to families facing adversity through emergency or fuel assistance, a back-to-school shoe program for children, Christmas food and presents, and a weekly soup kitchen. One family expressed their thanks to the services Interfaith provided this way, “When we moved here we had nothing and our family was going through a really rough time. Interfaith surrounded us and made our life easier.”

This past year Interfaith served 5,859 people. Many of those served also were encouraged to participate in an educational program called “Pathways” which helps family members develop a new understanding for budgeting, cultivate new skills and builds awareness for personal strengths. Interfaith is also beginning to use the boutique store as a classroom to expand young people’s understanding of technology, art, math and other important subjects.

Those interested in contributing to this permanent endowment to help Interfaith may send contributions to Susquehanna County Interfaith Fund at The Community Foundation 270 Lake Avenue Montrose, PA 18801 or online at
