Old Forge Forms School District Foundation

old forge logoThe Old Forge School District recently established the Old Forge School District Foundation administered by Commonwealth Charitable Management, headquartered in Montrose which currently administers foundations for seven other school districts in northeastern Pennsylvania. The Old Forge School District Foundation will manage endowments established by friends and benefactors of the district to support special unfunded projects in the schools as well as college scholarships to benefit graduating seniors. Furthermore, since 2003 Commonwealth Charitable Management has administered the Pennsylvania Education Improvement Tax Credit Program which provides funding for projects in schools throughout Pennsylvania. Funding is provided by tax credit contributions from corporations. Currently Peoples Security Bank and Trust is providing more than $11,000 to assist deserving Old Forge high school students with Dual Enrollment expenses so they may earn college credit on certain courses offered in the High School.

Those interested in learning more about establishing endowments or participating in the Education Improvement program may contact High School Principal Chris Gatto or Commonwealth Charitable Management at 570-278-3800.
