FriendsofSusq CtyThe Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains, a division of Commonwealth Charitable Management headquartered in Montrose, is pleased to announce that the Friends of Susquehanna County Endowment recently provided a $1,000 grant to help recognize the giving spirit of Christmas. This year the endowment provided support to the Women’s Resource Center, Susquehanna County 4-H, and the Good Start Program of the Blue Ridge School District. Originally known as The Friends of Barnes-Kasson Hospital to help raise funding for the hospital, the civic-minded group of individuals expanded their region of support and changed their name to The Friends of Susquehanna County. In 2002 they established a charitable endowment with The Community Foundation to help provide support in the communities they serve. Over the years the Friends of Susquehanna County have assisted food pantries, schools, libraries, health clinics, senior citizen agencies, and a host of other non-profits in Susquehanna County. Their permanent endowment with The Community Foundation is intended to continue this charitable legacy for many generations to come and contributions to the endowment are always welcome. Donations to The Friends of Susquehanna County Endowment can be mailed to The Community Foundation at 270 Lake Avenue in Montrose, PA 18801, or made online at www.community-foundation.org.
