Curtis D. Johnson Memorial Scholarship

Established by the family and friends of Mr. Johnson to provide tuition assistance to Montrose Area High School seniors who will matriculate at college or a post-secondary degree program and who have participated in the Cross Country or Track and Field teams.

Mid-November to Mid-March

Curtis was an accomplished Track and Field athlete at Central High School and Saint Ambrose University, Davenport, IA, in the 1960s. At Montrose Area High School, he volunteered his time as the cross country booster club president and knew all the student athletes’ names and personal records. He was a lifelong academic, who believed in the power of athletics to enhance students’ lives.
