Deborah A. Burke Breast Cancer Fund
About the fund
Provides assistance to breast cancer patients.
From the Donor:
Our young mother Debbie was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer at the age of 45.
Unfortunately, she had skipped her annual mammography so when her cancer was found, it was already stage 3. She lost her short battle with the disease only 9 months after being diagnosed.
Debbie was a funny, lighthearted mother who always did her best to take care of us. To honor her and educate all women about the importance of mammograms and early detection, we created a fund in her memory.
It would make her happy to know that her children developed this fund to help other women battling breast cancer to win the fight.
Her story will always remain in our hearts and remind to fight any hardships in life with courage and somehow a sense of humor too.
