Mrs. Brush was a long-time parishioner of St. John’s Church as well as a respected teacher.  She taught school in Annapolis, MD, Binghamton, NY, and for most of her life in Susquehanna.

She was a kind and caring woman who loved her home and loved cooking.  Above all she had many dogs throughout her life, especially her favorite, Jasmine, for which she had a special affection.

Mrs. Brush was predeceased by her parents Patrick and Emma Griffin, and was herself 94 years old when she passed away peacefully at the Barnes-Kasson Senior Nursing Facility.  She is buried in the St. John’s Cemetery.

Unbeknownst to many, Mrs. Brush had stipulated in her estate plans that upon her passing a permanent fund would be created with The Community Foundation to provide annual grants for the support of her church, which had been an important part of her life for many years.  Her caring and forethought will be felt by her fellow parishioners for many generations to come.
