ABOUT THE FUND

Some of the causes and organizations who have received grants from the Housel Family Fund:

• Endless Mountains Health Systems: one of only two hospitals serving all of Susquehanna County
• Local high schools and colleges
• Local mental health support
• Animal welfare and rescue: True Friends Animal Welfare, Kitties of NEPA Pet Rescue, and others
• Organizations who protect our natural lands: Countryside Conservancy and others
• Local organizations who support those with intellectual disabilities, who support women experiencing abuse, and who support other vulnerable people
• WVIA
• Local church organizations
• Organizations who fight hunger and starvation

History of the fund:

When Bob and Jen Housel had the opportunity to help some of their favorite nonprofit causes financially, they chose to maximize their ability to give by opening a fund at the Community Foundation of the Endless Mountains. Through the ongoing growth of the fund, stewarded excellently by the Foundation, the Housel family will eventually have requested grants for charitable organizations valued at many times the amount they originally had available to give.

The Housel Family is grateful to be able to support many nonprofit organizations through this fund. They are grateful too to the Community Foundation, for helping them to increase and sustain their philanthropic impact.
