John Clune Biography

John Clune was born in a rural area of Pennsylvania and lived on a farm until his teenage years, when he moved to New Jersey. Upon competing high school he became a tool and die maker. John was the type of person who had a thirst for knowledge, not only in his chosen trade, but in every area he could learn about. He was a wonderful listener, and would use this desire and gift for listening to learn as much as he could from people he met. He was always trying to improve and grow as a craftsman and a person. John was able to comprehend the most difficult problems, which helped him in his trade and as a business man.

In 1976 John and his wife Lorraine and their son moved to the Montrose area where he started his own company, which, through their hard work together, turned into a profitable business. He was a very special and wonderful friend who was always willing to help with his many talents and expertise whenever he was needed.

John was taken from us in April of 1991 and this scholarship was established to remember him. John was someone who gave his all to his family, business, community, and friends. It is hoped his spirit and love of knowledge will be remembered and passed on so that future generations can grow as John always tried to do in his chosen field and also as a member of the community.
